We have a range of different silent electric boats to hire for a relaxing trip along the beautiful, winding, scenic Kerikeri river, including opportunities to visit the Plough and Feather pub or the historic Stone Store museum. They are really easy to drive and the silent electric motor means you can hear the birds and get right up close to them without disturbing them. The price listed $305 is for up to seven people on our largest boat for 2 hours. Additional hours are $85 per hour. Our smaller boats for 2 or 4 people start at $99 for the first hour and $50 for additional hours. Groups of up to 21 people can be accommodated if you book more than one boat.

What do to between Christmas and New Year in the mid north. I had spotted a bit about this business, self drive boat hire in the Waipapa Kerikeri River area. Being a few years since I had been on these rivers and my wife never being on them perfect. A couple of emails to Chris asking about the area of operation and a booking was made for 3 hours that would enable us to go to the Outer reaches of operation at Rangitane, back up to the Stone Store and then end up back at Waipapa Landing where ewe had left from. I had booked a 2 seat catamaran, there was a bit of a wind that had come up so Chris upgraded us to a very lovely English riverboat that had a bigger electric motor owing to the areas we wanted to go and the wind. Accompanied by Chris we had a very enjoyable day, as he lead us down and back, even with a little side jaunt up a stream where he wouldn’t normally take this boat due to its length. Chris makes no attempt to rush you and is more than willing for you to set the pace and stop and or look at anything that takes your interest. The boat is very easy to handle, almost silent, and with a length of over 6 metres and seating for 6 there is no requirement to wear a life jacket. THEY ARE PROVIDED if you feel the need. They offer a range of boat types with two, four, six or seven seats, something to suit everyone. Large groups can take several boats. Yes we will be going back and doing this again and taking others with us. Thanks Chris a most ENJOYABLE TIME

This was a perfect family afternoon activity on the kerikeri river. Chris was very helpful in fitting us in, the briefing was quick & on-point, then we spent a happy couple of hours motoring gently (silently & sustainably) along, enjoying the peace & scenery. Thanks Chris - we wish you success in this venture - deserves to be a hit!

We had a wonderful 2 hour cruise on Kerikeri river, so peaceful and easy to drive. Chris was really nice and instructions were clear. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend to anyone.

Trip booked on grabone. Good Comms through whole process. Day before trip due had phone call from operator offering to postpone due to severe weather on day of our trip. We changed to next day however overnight there was an earthquake 7.2 in Pacific which triggered a tsunami warning. on morning of rescheduled trip operator called to say he can't put out boats as it's a tidal river until warning lifted. Couple hours passed and final call saying all clear and trip can go ahead. Arrived and had full safety briefing, he provided life jackets and a mobile phone in waterproof pouch for emergency which I thought was a nice touch. boat was equipped with kill switch you attached to wrist just in case I fell overboard the boat would stop. maps were also provided of the river. Boat itself was a two seater with canopy which doubled as solar power panels. easy as to operate push switch forward to go forward push back to go back even came with handy steering wheel so could turn corners lol doesn't go fast but you don't need to just sit n relax and take in the atmosphere. Awesome trip down River and the safety boat followed short distance behind just in case. Great Comms from Chris the operator and such a cool way to get around the river. This is a new start up business so if you are in Keri Keri in the Northland then you should check it out. it's also new to New Zealand and there is a selection of boats available catering for the single rider up to 10-12

Big shout out to Chris of the Company who recently set up a fun new venture on the Kerikeri river! Instead of getting carried away with Christmas presents, our family decided to do an experience. Twelve of us booked 2 electric boats for 4 hours on Sunday afternoon, and we had a fantastic time cruising from Waipapa Landing to the Stone Store, out for a quick break at Plough & Feather, then having an explore out Skudder’s Beach way. We don’t get to spend much time on boats and it was brilliant seeing the river from a new angle, and taking turns steering the boats. Chris was friendly and helpful, and stayed close enough to give us guidance and assistance, while enough space to feel like we were in our own family bubble 😉 a fantastic day out, thanks Chris!

I went for a ride on one of their electric boats around the Kerikeri Inlet, between Waipapa Landing and the Stone Store. What can I say - this is the civilised, enlightened and respectful way to travel on the water. No noise, no exhaust, no stink, no fumes, no blue smoke, no sputtering engine, no vroom-vroom. I had a blast sneaking up on the roosting seabirds along the banks and islands and seeing them up close, without disturbing them. I highly recommend it - but it's only for people with the right mindset, who are willing to share nature, not lording over it.
